Kudumbashree is one of the major initiatives implemented by the Government of Kerala for the social and economic empowerment of women in the state.

About Kudumbashree

Kudumbashree is a flagship poverty eradication and women empowerment programme of the Government of Kerala. Its major objectives include poverty eradication, women's empowerment, promotion of self-employment and development of sustainable livelihood opportunities.

Kudumbashree works by organising women into neighbourhood groups and utilising their collective strength, skills and resources to achieve the economic and social progress of their families.

Entrepreneurship Support

Kudumbashree plays an important role in providing women with the necessary support to start self-employment activities and develop small-scale enterprises.

Social Development Activities

Kudumbashree actively participates in various social development activities. It also works in areas such as protection of women's rights, health and education awareness, social security, gender equality and local development.
